Background

 

Matthias Grau is a partner at Saxenhammer.

 

During his law studies, Matthias was able to gain initial and intensive M&A experience in international transactions and restructurings. After graduating, he continued on this path, working for the law firms Fiedler & Forster, Bongen, Renaud & Partner, Feddersen Laule Scherzberg, Ohle Hansen Ewerwahn Finkelnburg Clemm and later White & Case LLP.

 

Since founding Saxenhammer, Matthias has advised on a large number of transactions there, initially as a client on the legal side. In 2012, Matthias then joined Saxenhammer & Co. as a partner and played a key role in building up the company until 2019. Today, Matthias Grau has advised on more than 100 M&A and debt capital transactions in all major industries in Germany. He has particular expertise in cross-border distressed M&A transactions, especially with Chinese and Japanese investors.

 

Matthias speaks German, English and French.
