Advisor to the arko - HUSSEL - Eilles
on the sale to Viba sweets GmbH
Saxenhammer exclusively advised the arko-HUSSEL-Eilles group of companies on the sale to Viba sweets GmbH.
arko GmbH, HUSSEL GmbH and J. Eilles GmbH & Co. KG have been operating under the umbrella of the Deutsche Confiserie Group since 2018. The three brands arko, HUSSEL and Eilles are leading German specialist confectionery retailers and together primarily sell chocolate, coffee and tea in a total of 224 shops in Germany and Austria.
Viba is a confectionery manufacturer from Thuringia, which is known in particular for its nougat and chocolate products and sells these in its own stores. The traditional company Viba can look back on 130 years of history.
The Local Court of Norderstedt appointed Dr Dietmar Penzlin from the law firm SJPP as insolvency administrator for the three companies, supported by his team led by partners Dr Christian Mikolajczak, Niklas Marwedel (both insolvency law) and Dr Philippe Rollin (M&A/corporate).
Dr Penzlin states: "Saxenhammer's professional support of the M&A process, which was ambitious in terms of time and content - even by insolvency law standards - made an important contribution to the restructuring solution and the preservation of around 600 jobs".
The process was led by Christian Saxenhammer (CEO), supported by Mark Seewald (Vice President) and Maria Bauer (Analyst).
